Meet Dr. Jessie

I have lived in the St. Louis area all my life and currently reside in Wentzville, MO with my husband and two kids. I have always been an animal lover and advocate. I have been riding for as long as I can remember — from trail riding, county fair shows, hunter/jumper and finally my true passion — dressage.  After graduating from the University of Missouri Columbia I started my career as a small animal general practitioner and emergency medicine doctor. After almost 10 years, burn out began to set in and I started looking for a new journey and purpose. I found myself in love with rehabilitation and alternative therapies. From emergency medicine I moved into a small animal practice in O’Fallon, MO with an emphasis on rehabilitation and acupuncture.  I was trained at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute to receive certification as a therapist. I then received certification in acupuncture and Chinese herbs at the world renowned Chi Institute in Florida which has certified over 8,000 students in 75 different countries.

It is so wonderful to watch my canine and feline patients find alternative care to their chronic pain and illnesses that I wanted to explore the same in the equine world. We ask so much from our equine partners that we need to find a way to help them live to their full potential and happiness. To fulfill this need I launched On Point Equine Acupuncture as an adjunct to traditional medicine.

How On Point Equine Acupuncture started

One afternoon Brianna Zwilling, head trainer at Epique Equestrian, and I were discussing some setbacks her horse was having. He was perfectly sound and diagnostic testing all normal but something just seemed off. We know our partners so well and Brianna is such an amazing advocate for her animals that she refused to believe this was as good as it gets. From this discussion my wheels started turning, and from that developed an equine acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine business.

I am happy to report Brianna’s horse is better than ever thanks to acupuncture and Chinese Herbs
